Blackett's Ridge, Tucson, AZ
I've been learning to slow down and notice that when things don't go as planned there is still something for me to see or learn in that moment. Sometimes those moments are big, other times they're rather small.
This morning I had the intention to hike Blackett's Ridge in Sabino Canyon but the my alarm went off at 6am it was raining. I decided to wait and hoped the rain would clear and I'd try to hike this afternoon.
The clouds did move on and I was able to make it to the top of Blackett's like I had planned, just a little later than I originally intended. As I was coming off the trail and walking on the road back to the parking lot, I turned around for no reason and saw a beautiful rainbow stretching over the very trail and ridge I had just completed. I felt like it was a God-wink telling me, "see? Isn't this better?"
I wasn't meant to hike this morning. I was meant to hike this afternoon so I could see this rainbow and affirm that truth. Life was working out just as it was supposed to.
